Chivalry Contego grew out of a desire to capture the essence of these tenets: honesty, honor, loyalty and valor. We started Chivalry Contego to honor those who live by these values and to help those who struggle in a world without them. We are creating an apparel company committed to the legacy that has inspired it, and to the people and communities we are ourselves a part of. We will be designing graphic tees that are influenced by our values and that can hopefully speak to yours.

Chivalry Contego is a sport and leisure apparel company with a conscious capitalist model. We will be designing graphic tees, among other garments, that raise awareness to various issues and causes. A percentage of each garment sold will benefit these causes.

                                                            Our Story

When we grow up, we look for things from the past to hold on to.  We look for answers to what has shaped us; what values we hold on to. It is human nature to gravitate towards that which is profound, to search for stories that inspire, to look for legends that give hope.

Nathan Bagby (Founder): I first learned about Chivalry from my parents and my grandparents. It was a legacy passed down in my family. We were taught to speak the truth, that your word is your bond. We were taught to live with integrity in your beliefs and your actions, to look out for and stay faithful to those in whom you've engendered trust. We were also taught to live a daring and adventurous life. We grew up in some pretty rough neighborhoods. We didn't have much, so we looked for our own diversions. I turned to fighting and fitness. My dad will tell you, he has no idea where my brother and I get our competitiveness.  We got it watching my mom and him fight tooth and nail for our family. I fought competitively for a bit, and then turned to coaching. Learning from the likes of Francisco Zambrano, Dutch Lowy, and Kenny McClure, I feel now, as a coach, an athlete, and a fighter it's my duty to pass on the legacy. I've only just realized that includes the lessons learned at home... that's what this is about.

Josh Bagby (Co-Founder): My exposure to the concept of chivalry started on the living room floor of the house I grew up in. I used to sit there in front of my parents, completely enthralled, as they read me stories of brave heroes and evil villains. Stories in which good invariably triumphed over evil because the hero was honest, honorable, loyal and valorous. As I grew up, these stories stayed with me, and I came to realize that these traits could be summarized in a single word: chivalry. The desire to emulate these heroes I grew up with is ultimately what led me to join the military and become an Army Ranger. While in the middle east, we fought against terrorism and oppression. Upon getting out of the military, I began to look for a way to keep the fight going, to broaden the scope and address the every day instances of oppression found around the world and in our own communities. Chivalry Contego is a product of that desire to stay engaged. It's by no means a solution to the worlds problems, but it's another step in the right direction.
